The OneHat Advantage

Custom software should give you more control over your business—not create new uncertainties. Our approach is designed to reduce the risks of custom development. All of our standard contracts and project practices are designed to provide the following benefits:

1. No Vendor Lock-In

Your software should remain an asset, not a trap.

When we build your software, you get perpetual rights to use it and the ability to modify it. Your business isn't tied to OneHat to keep using the software we've built for you.

If you decide to leave, you can take your software with you, and have someone else modify and maintain it.

We want you to stay because you like working with us, not because you have to!

2. “No-Surprises” Budget

Custom software shouldn't mean writing a blank check.

You stay involved in decisions about your project's scope, priorities, and budget. For smaller projects, we'll agree on a scope, timeline, and cost before any work begins. For larger projects, we'll establish the regular rhythm of sprint meetings, where you can adjust the scope, priorities, and budget for upcoming sprints as needed.

We strive to keep project status and spending transparent, so you can make informed decisions throughout development. You stay involved, informed, and in control of the decisions that shape your investment.

3. Walk-Away Blueprint

You don't have to commit to the entire development project to get value from Discovery.

For projects large enough to need a billed Discovery phase, we'll help you define the problem, map the relevant workflows, identify requirements and integrations, and develop a practical plan for moving forward.

You'll receive the Discovery deliverables agreed upon for your project whether or not you choose to use OneHat for implementation. If you decide to go elsewhere, you'll still have a useful blueprint to help guide the next steps.
